For the eighth year in a row, dressage legend Ulla Håkansson revealed who the two lucky riders were, that would be honored to receive the Ajax scholarship.
The scholarship is 200,000 per rider and will be used for training, explained Ulla Håkansson.

This year the number applicants were higher than ever before, and it was clear it was a quite tricky job for the jury consisting of Ulla himself, Kyra Kyrklund, Eva-Karin Oskarsson and Jan Brink to choose only two out of 48.

This year the scholarship went to Michelle Hagman from Torsås, now living in Germany, and Elin Aspnäs from Åhus. Both are young riders who already compete the Grand Prix at an international level – Michelle with her Rudis Memory and Elin with their horses Donna Romma and Christo.

The dressage veteran Isabell Werth, with her star El Santo NRW, scored at the WDM Grand Prix. Isabell Werth, who started as the last rider, knew she had to prove what it really takes to win to Patrik Kittel and Watermill Scandic, that were in the current lead with 74,660 procent.

After a fantastic ride, where the piaffs clearly were a highlight, it was no doubt that the German star had made it once again; Isabell Werth scored fantastic 75,213 procent and the gold was hers.

Second; Patrik Kittel and Watermill Scandic; third; Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfvén and Favourit.

In the CDI 3-Star Grand Prix, Danish rider Joachim Thomsen and his gelding Akeem Foldager ended with the great score of 74,872 procent.
This was 5 percent more than number two Mattias Jansson and Brisbane (e: Briar).

Minna Telde and Isac (e: Hip Hop) socred the highest points in today’s 7-year old championship on the fantastic scores of  75.921 procent, beofre number two, Norwegian Trude Hestengen and the stallion Tobajo Pik Disney.

This was the third time Minna Telde wins the this Championship in Falsterbo. A true winner of all measurements. Previous from Isac, she has scored gold with her GP star EMV Don Charly (2004) and Larina HÖM (2006).

Many of the Falsterbo visitors were missing the very popular show class ‘Ride & Drive’ last year. Now Ride and Drive is back in business, and this time as Mercedes-Benz Ride & Drive.

Ride & Drive equals both horses and show, when it is at it’s best: riders who competes against each other and the clock, by jumping a short course and directly after that driving a course at the fastest speed. Do we need to say it’s a Mercedes that is the car in focus?

To watch Mercedes-Benz Ride & Drive, be at the International show jumping arena on Sunday, 15th july.
