The lineup for this year’s Falsterbo Horse Show CSIO5* is now set, featuring top international riders including world number one Henrik von Eckermann of Sweden and European champion Steve Guerdat from Switzerland, along with his teammate and last year’s winner of the Falsterbo Grand Prix, Martin Fuchs. The courses for Falsterbo Horse Show 2024 will be designed by Santiago Varela, recognised as one of the world’s best course designers.

International show jumpers will compete at Falsterbo Horse Show in the south of Sweden from Thursday, July 11 to Sunday, July 14, with highlights such as the Agria Falsterbo Nations Cup (Friday, July 12 at 2:00 PM), Falsterbo Derby presented by Agria (Saturday, July 13 at 3:30 PM), and the highly prestigious Falsterbo Grand Prix (Sunday, July 14 at 2:00 PM). Santiago Varela, known for his work at the world’s largest and most prestigious competitions, will design this year’s courses.

Among the nations competing in Agria Falsterbo Nations Cup 2024 are Sweden and reigning champions Switzerland, alongside FranceJapanthe NetherlandsGermanythe USANorway, Ireland, and Italy.

Following their impressive victories in Falsterbo 2023, the Swiss team returns with European Champion and world number three Steve Guerdat as well as Martin Fuchs, currently ranked sixth globally. The experienced Pius Schwizer and Alain Jufer complete the Swiss team, aiming to defend their Nations Cup title.

– I’m really looking forward to the Falsterbo Horse Show. It is one of my favorite shows and the Swedish crowd is really one of the best in the world so it’s nice to go back after having had such a fantastic year in 2023. We will be there with a strong team, trying to defend our team title and obviously I will also do my best to defend the Grand Prix title!, says Martin Fuchs.

Impressive Swedish Lineup on home turf

Sweden’s Chef d’Equipe Henrik Ankarcrona has currently confirmed 11 riders to represent the home nation at Falsterbo Horse Show CSIO5*, including local rider Petronella Andersson from Ljunghusen, a small coastal village just a 15-minute bike ride from the show grounds. The lineup also includes Henrik von EckermannPeder FredricsonLinda HeedOttilia LundgrenFredrik SpetzEmma EmanuelssonWilma HellströmAmanda Landeblad, Erica Swartz Ryan, and Marcus Westergren. The announcement of this year’s Nations Cup team will be made at a later stage.

It will be exciting to meet the Swedish audience on home turf with all our fantastic riders. We are riding this weekend and Nations Cup in Aachen, then I will select the team for Falsterbo, says Henrik Ankarcrona

Five more Swedish riders will join the international lineup, with four qualifying through the 7 Star final on Sunday, July 7 at 5:00 PM.

Strong competition both in Nations Cup and individually

Both the home nation and defending champions will face tough competition from team riders such as André Thieme from Germany, often successful at Falsterbo, Ireland’s Cian O’Connor, and Dutch riders Marc Houtzager and Jur Vrieling.

Individually, riders from Australia, AustriaBrazilDenmark, and Poland will also compete at Falsterbo Horse Show 2024. Finally, Belgium will send two individual riders, including Abdel Saïd, who had a strong competition in Falsterbo in 2023 with a second place in the Falsterbo Derby and impressive rounds in the Nations Cup.

This year Family Corner is back at Falsterbo Horse Show with the purpose to stimulate and develop children’s compassion for animals and nature. Here everyone is welcome, both the smallest from year 0-3 and older children up to 10 years. 

In the Family Corner you will find things such as a craft workshop, stick horses, exciting animals and jumping castles. Sydskånska Kennel Club, Skanörs Library and Panduro are a few of our partners this year. 

And for those who like stick horses there are a lot of fun things to do; buy a stick horse and decorate it as much as you want, compete with your stick horse or join our stick horse riding school. Of course you are welcome to borrow stick horses from us!

Elin Frost, director of the Family Corner comments on this years edition: 

“This year we will use the best things from earlier years. If you have been to the Family Corner before you will recognize a lot. Family Corner is a place where every child nomether age, animal interest or other needs should feel welcome. Play and curiosity are our priorities.”

Denmark-based Emma Ahlberg became the first this year to qualify her horse Ambjergs Delgadino to the Fager bits 7 y/o Championship 2023. She qualified during the competitions at Tørring Rideklub on April 6th and 7th with a score of 68,750% and 71,667%.
Emma and Ambjergs Delgadino have previously competed in Falsterbo in the Folksam Open for 5 y/o where the couple finished in eighth place.

Emma Ahlberg comments on this year’s expectations:

“I am looking forward to the summer as Falsterbo Horse Show is one of the highlights. Both to ride the horses and also to meet and spend a few lovely days with friends, colleagues and family. Dino also competed in Falsterbo as a 5 y/o. That was a great experience for him and us together as a team. I hope to show a well prepared horse that is ready for the task”.


Fager bits 7 y/o Championship takes place on Thursday 13th July (semifinal) and Saturday 15th July (final) 2023.

During the international competitions in Lier (BEL) on March 23-26th, Viktor Edvinsson rode his horse Yoga Hästak (SWE) faultlessly in both the 1.35 m and 1.40 m jumping-class making her the first horse to qualify for the Horseware 7y/o Championship 2023.

Viktor Edvinsson comments on his expectations before the competition:

“Falsterbo Horse Show is always the highlight of the year and we as riders are very grateful for the young horse classes. Our young horses need to come out to these amazing competitions to become prepared for even bigger challenges in the future. It is really valuable for these young horses to experience these types of big competitions. My expectations for this summer is of course to win the Horseware 7 y/o Championship. To win at Falsterbo is an incredible experience!”

Yoga Hästak (SWB), mare born 2016 (e. Heartbeat, ue Carmargue, breeder Hästak AB, owner Viktor Edvinsson & Fyllinge Smide AB). Viktor has previously ridden Yoga Hästak at Falsterbo in Folksam Open 5 y/o and 6 y/o jumping.

After three qualification opportunities we know know the finalists that will ride on to Equestrian Stockholm Ponny Freestyle in Falsterbo. It was at times very small margins that separated the riders in the top tier, but now six riders and their ponies are ready to take on Falsterbo.

The riders will compete at Falsterbo Sport Edition on Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th of July. During the Saturday the riders will ride the FEI’s individual championship program for pony 2012, revised in 2021. The riders will then face a new program for the Sunday when they instead will be riding the FEI’s freestyle for pony riders 2007, revised in 2017. The question that everyone now is asking is who of the following riders will stand on the podium at the end of the weekend?

As part of a dialogue with the Danish Equestrian Federation, Josephine Gert Nielsen & Timm’s My Fritz have qualified to compete in Falsterbo alongside the Swedish riders. Lastly, Angelina Brink & Weber af Kongshöj have been given a Wild Card and will also be competing in Falstebro.

Fjärås Hoppryttare was responsible for this year’s last qualifier for the Maya Delorez Children’s Challenge during the Gothenburg Summer Tour. With that, we can proudly present this year’s final crew.

Children’s Challenge is open to riders born 2007-2009.

The final is ridden in two rounds during the Falsterbo Horse Show. Round 1 takes place on 16th of July, assessment A, with assessment of the rider and horse as part of the final score. Round 2 takes place on 17th of July, assessment A: 1a, at the International Jumping Arena.
