Ingvar Fredricson has dedicated his entire life to understanding horses. During Wednesday morning he visited Falsterbo Horse Show together with Kajsa von Geijer and his sons, Jens and Peder Fredricson to talk about the new foundation that has been created in his name in order to pass on his knowledge for horses to future generations.

It’s Kajsa von Geijer och Annika Berridge that is financing the new book and a new edition of the old book by Ingvar Fredricson, called Flyinge, whose revenues also fund the new foundation. The reason is simple – his knowledge has to be preserved.

Ingvar is 86 years old and a lot has changed in Sweden during his time. The knowledge of horse keeping must not get lost and that is why this foundation is needed, says Kajsa von Geijer,

At a press conference at Falsterbo Horse Show Ingvar Fredricson tells us about how he got to know so much about horses. It’s a lot of studying, he says, but ends it with the most important part – the personal interest.

– It’s about time. There are thousands of young people that are fascinated by equestrian sports in general and show jumping in particular. They want to make a career but it requires that you understand the art of horsemanship, get the right education and know a whole lot about the veterinary practice, Ingvar Fredricson states.

His son Peder Fredricson describes that a typical conversation during family dinners evolves 98% around horses.

– I can see that many of the young riders that I compete against today come from rider families, where either the mother or the father has competed. I truly believe that it’s an enormous advantage to take part of that knowledge early on.

Jens Fredricson agrees.

– The riding in our family is important and it’s valued very highly, which I think has created the calm and joy around competing.

Ingvar Fredricson argues that the foundation is important for the young riders and the upcoming generations.

– It’s almost impossible to ride at the highest level and at the same time keep track of the present research. That is what we will be working on in the foundation. To simplify and make it as exciting and as fun as possible so that you will want to learn.

On the board for this new foundation are Ingvar Fredricson, Kajsa von Geijer, Jens Fredricson, Peder Fredricson, Jana Wannius och Annika Berridge.

The sun shined as bright as the smile of chef d’equipe Peter Weinberg when Wilm Vermeir and Iq Van Het Steentje crossed the finish line in Falsterbo on Friday afternoon. With four clear rounds in the second round, the team did not only secure the win of the day in Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of SWEDEN, but also showed that they are a team to count on for the finals in Barcelona.

Belgium put on an amazing show in Falsterbo on Friday afternoon and scored a total of four clears in the second round of the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of SWEDEN. For most of the team it was their first time at Falsterbo Horse Show. And what a way to make a mark in the shows history books!

Chef d’equipe Peter Weinberg happiness and pride in the team could not be mistaken as he shared his reflection on the performance:

“My team was brilliant in round one and even better in the second round!” Peter Weinberg shared afterwards at the press conference.

Also the team shared Peters excitement for the win and performance, praising the crowd here at Falsterbo Horse Show:

“The crowd here is amazing”  said Pieter Clemens, one of two double clears in the team. “This is an amazing venue and the surface in the arena is good for our horses. They do a great show here and the spectators are fantastic!”, he said.

The course were designed by Germany’s Frank Rothenberger, who knows how to put the teams up for a good challenge. The first round gave a total of 15 clear rounds, giving the impression that the course were very jumpable. In the second round things took a different turn with many experienced riders having fences down. Making the performance of the 24 year old Gilles Thomas even more impressive:

“We have lots of Nations Cups happening at the moment so we have different riders here and for Gilles (Thomas) this was his first 5* Nations Cup and he was great!”,  “Thomas, double European Champion at Junior level and team silver medallist at the FEI European Young Riders Championship in 2019, is yet another blossoming Belgian talent.”
shared the proud Chef d’equipe Peter Weinberg.

Next up for this brilliant team is Hickstead (GBR) where Peter Weinberg aims to secure their spot in the prestigious prestigious Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Final at the Real Club de Polo in Barcelona (ESP) from 29 September to 2 October.

From all of Falsterbo Horse Show we say a big congratulations to chef d’equipe Peter Weinberg and  team riders Pieter ClemensKoen Vereecke, Gilles Thomas and Wilm Vermeir.

Ten foals boasting top-notch bloodlines have made it into the hand-picked collection. Other than the top Holsteiner sires, Casall and Clarimo, the very young stallions Cahil and Charaktervoll send offspring, as well. But there is more, with the much sought-after sires

Chacoon Blue, Diamant de Semilly, Dominator Z, Cornet Obolensky, same as Le Blue Diamant van’t Ruytershof and Emerald van’t Ruytershof also represented. This typey filly’s second dam is also dam to Classic Touch DH, a mare which used to be successfully shown in jumping classes to 1.60m by Thibeaut Spits (BEL). Or else Diamond Fire SN by Diamant de Semilly-Clarimo, lot no 9: his direct dam line has also produced Spender S, a jumping horse shown at international level by Jos Lansink and Maria Gretzer, respectively.

The ten lots offered for sale will be first publicly presented live on Saturday, 16 July, at 3.00pm right before the important Falsterbo Derby with the auction kicking off at 5:00pm in the dressage arena. All other information, pedigrees and videos are available online on www.holsteiner.auction.
