Falsterbo welcomes 7 of the world's top 10
Falsterbo Horse Show is breaking all records this year! Seven of the world’s top ten show-jumpers will be joining us in Falsterbo, including the reigning European champion Kevin Staut from France and world number four Rolf-Göran Bengtsson.
European champion Kevin Staut, France. World number three Billy Twomey, Ireland. Sweden’s own Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, ranked number four in the world. Denis Lynch of Ireland, ranked fifth. Christian Ahlmann of Germany, who is ranked sixth, and his fellow countryman Marcus Ehning, ranked ninth. Currently in tenth place in the world jumping rankings is Frenchman Simon Delestre, who has also registered for the event.
Falsterbo Horse Show’s popularity is due to the fact that it is one of only a few five-star competitions held during the year culminating in the Longines Grand Prix, with prize money of EUR 200,000. There is just as much at stake in the FEI Nations Cup Top Level League, a team jumping event for the eight best teams in the world – Belgium, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, and the USA.
Home nation Sweden will also be taking part in the event, which provides the perfect dress rehearsal for this year’s European Jumping Championship in Madrid in September. The European Championship is also the only Olympic Games qualifier for Sweden this year, making Falsterbo’s Nations Cup more important than ever for the host nation.
