Mr. Georges Morris - a living legend has arrived to Falsterbo Horse Show
Mr George Morris has arrived to Falsterbo Horse Show as Chef d’Equipe for the USA team. The first time Mr. Morris visited the Falsterbo Horse Show was in 1985, then he was here both as a rider and Chef d’Equipe.
So exactly what does a Chef d’Equipe do? A Chef d’Equipe is the organizer, coach and general helper for the team. Mr. Morris describes himself as a father figure for the whole team. In practical terms the job involves everything from checking equipment, stables, adding up strategies for the team and to keep an eye on everything from staff to feed. Mr. Morris is a living legend in the world of international show jumping. Mr Morris is still working a lot with bringing his philosophy to the new generation of riders. Fundamental to Mr. Morris riding technique, is to start from a “foreward seat” and to let the horse work for the rider with as little effort as possible for the rider.
Mr. Morris has been a guest at Falsterbo many times, this year, he points out that it is just getting – better, better and better.
Today Mr. Morris will participate in the international rabbit jumping competition; a rehearsal was required since this is a competition that is taken very seriously at Falsterbo Horse Show. On the rabbit jumping race track Mr. Morris received his racing companion, Amores 2 years, black and willing to jump. The rehearsal went excellent so last year’s winner Jan-Olof Wannius can expect tough competition in todays competition.
